We Stand for Justice and Freedom

The profound concern for the situation in our region weighs heavily on our hearts. We are utterly outraged by the continued massacres of innocent civilians and inexistent regard for the value of a human life.

We stand with members of the nafda network and beyond in mourning the thousands of innocent people killed.

It is in these moments that we grow more steadfast in our dedication to our work: to continuously provide a safe and inspiring environment for children to chart their own paths and achieve their full potential. That they may know a day of peace and ground themselves in the values of social justice, engaged citizenship and good governance, despite the educational challenges of the last 4 years.

We remain committed to our values and confident that justice must, and will, prevail.

Winners of the Young National Entrepreneurs Program

Students from Rachaya Public School have garnered success and recognition for both their first and second school transformation projects!

At the beginning of their journey with nafda, they developed a social enterprise that preserves and grows the beehive ecosystem native to their area in Rachaya. This resulted in the production of 50 kilograms of honey, and the proceeds were utilized to support families with medical conditions and students requiring assistance with school expenses. Read the full case study here.

After participating in social innovation and project management training by our implementing partner, Injaz, and presenting their project, they were named victors of the National Young Entrepreneurs Competition in Lebanon.

They are now qualified to compete regionally, where they will be presenting their new innovation – a “Guide Me” device. They utilized the new STEAM lab, which served as their second school transformation project, to design this device which utilizes a camera, vibrator, and AI-powered application to offer visually impaired individuals guidance and independence while navigating the streets.

The students are set to compete in Qatar in January 2024.

The studens have created an Instagram account for the GuideMe device and been featured by the local news.

Students in Lebanon Need Your Support!

Lebanon’s education system continues to collapse, especially amid the prevailing uncertainty. The limited access and growing divide in quality education is leaving many students without the tools they need to succeed.

We remain dedicated to ensuring that as many schools as possible gain access to advanced, equitable, inclusive, and engaging 21st-century education.

To amplify the impact of our initiatives, we are striving to secure around $400,000 in funding before the end of our fiscal year in September 2024
